Mels Dinners inspires with OneCarluke Salsa
This week, a group of young people at Street Level benefitted from a workshop lead by Melissa who runs Mels Dinners. They all stuck in and learned some basic kitchen knife and food preparation skills as well as learning more about the produce.
Melissa is a local food blogger in Carluke and has vast experience working in the kitchen as well as with the Farm to Fork scheme. You can check out her Facebook Page here.
The Community Gardeners at the OneCarluke Community Garden harvested lots of our tomatoes for the workshop from our red and ripe ones to some smaller bruised ones and even the green ones as they can all be used in salsa.
The project has been funded by SAC Consulting’s Connect Local Regional Food Fund and South Lanarkshire Council.
