Fun Saturday

After the success of last years Fun Saturday event, this year’s Carluke on the Run ran from Saturday 1st to Sunday 2nd June. Fun Saturday was held at Rankin Gait. There was fun for all the with kids bungee jumps, carousel rides, rowing competitions provided by SLLC, and a smoothie bike provided by Healthy and Happy.

CDT partners with local charities and at this years Fun Saturday we were able to host a number of these partners, including Esteem, The Haven and Get Walking Lanarkshire. Each of these charities and groups highlights the importance of health and exercise and it was great to showcase their great work at our sporting weekend.

Esteem are a local Clydesdale charity providing mental health support to communities. The Haven supports families affected by life limiting illnesses. CDT is proud to support both these local charities. If you’d like to volunteer with either charity please get in touch.

Get Walking Lanarkshire has recently started up a Monday morning health walk which leaves from St Andrews Church at 11am, which they promoted throughout Fun Saturday, while also putting CDT to shame on the rowing competition! You can find more information on local health walks at

CDT’s two charities of the year, Beatson and Cancer Research were also at Fun Saturday, providing hair braiding and kids colouring in and games.

It was great to see everyone out on Saturday, and at least the rain stayed off!
