Carluke Men's Shed
Carluke Men’s Shed is part of an international movement to provide an opportunity for men to work together and share their skills and interests with others.
Members currently meet every Friday from 12.00 p.m. until 2.00 p.m. in Carluke Leisure Centre, however we are in the process of moving to our new shed within the ONECAN Community Garden. This will enable members to get involved in a range of practical activities such as woodwork, model construction activities etc as well as having a cup of tea/coffee and a chat with fellow members.
The group aims to provide a workshop and social centre for members to pursue hobbies, pastimes and interests, learn new skills, practice and pass on old skills and promote their own and other men’s health and wellbeing.
We also have regular speakers offering advice on topics such as how to avoid scams (Trading Standards), Fire Safety Awareness in the home (Scottish Fire Service), Health and Fitness (Carluke Leisure Centre), First Aid (British Red Cross)
Congratulations to Tom Kennedy and his wife, Wendy who walked several times around Strathclyde Park in Saturday’s lovely weather for their Kiltwalk to raise funds for Carluke Men’s Shed.
Tom and Wendy Kennedy are embarking on the challenge of this year’s Kiltwalk 2021 to raise funds for Carluke Men’s Shed — as they did last year.
