Tabletop Engineering Talk

At last Friday’s (31/01/20) Meeting Carluke Men’s Shed member, George Russell, gave a fascinating talk about the many practical uses to which he could put his tabletop mini lathe and milling machine.

He described how this Austrian build kit was capable of being used to accurately machine small items like clock and watch parts, examples of which he passed around the audience.

George described the origin and history behind this tool and demonstrated its versatility. Members of the club asked a number of questions, some technical, about this hobby.

George answered all questions enthusiastically and provided guidance to those who wished to explore this engineering pastime in more detail.
